Saeed Abedini Wife of US pastor fights for his release.

Pastor Saeed Abedini is believed to have been put in jail in Iran, because of his Christian beliefs.

In a bid to garner support and get the attention of the world’s top human rights organisations and bodies for his release,Naghmeh, Pastor Abedini’s wife has travelled to the European Parlaiment to speak with members.

She also visited the German Parliament, where she spoke with the Federal Human Rights Committee.

Christoph Strässer,the German Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy, after meeting with her issued a press statement saying "I call upon Iran to quash Pastor Abedini's sentence – and the sentences of all those imprisoned merely on account of their religious belief – without delay. Until he is released, I appeal to all those responsible in Iran to grant him urgently needed medical treatments, including outside the prison."

In Strasbourg, France, the European Parliament representatives and the Chairperson of the committee on foreign affairs, both agreed to take up Pastor Abedini’s case internationally.
