Woman stabs pregnant neighbour to death over N1k debt

A pregnant woman identified as Mrs. Ikhuoria, has beenstabbed to death by her neighbour whom she allegedly lent the sum of N1, 000 to, on Monday, February 1, in Benin, the capital of Edo State.
It was gathered that the tragic incident which happened at Iyamu street, off Edo Textile Mill Road, in the city,  occurred when the deceased who was six-months-pregnant, was said to have gone to ask for her money from the suspect identified simply as Mama Emmanuel but in the process, an argument ensued between them, leading to the assailant using a knife to stab the victim to death.
The woman who owns the building Mrs. M. Okpojie, said she was working at the back of the house when she heard shouting in the front of the building and upon arrival at the scene of the quarrel, she found the deceased in a pool of her blood and was rushed to a private hospital where the doctor on duty referred her to another hospital.
“I was working at the back of the house when I heard shouting. I had to rush her to a private hospital when I saw the way she was bleeding. The doctor said it was an internal bleeding and I should take her away, so I called the husband to come,” Okpjie said.
The husband of the deceased, Ediale Ikhuoria, recounted what happened that day:
“My wife had loaned her N1000 and when she demanded for the money, Mama Emma stabbed her. She killed my wife. My wife was six months pregnant. She died on Monday morning.”
