Child Abuse 9-yr-old maid tortured by mistress adopted by Lagos State Govt

           

A nine-year-old housemaid who was brutalised by her mistress with hot water, leaving her scarred, Precious Chinwendu, has found succor at last, as the Lagos State Government has adopted her.The Orlu, Imo State born primary three pupil, was bathed with the boiling water by her mistress, Ifeoma Mbakwe, for allegedly stealing crayfish.

She was moved from the Rem-Yems Hospital, Agboda area of the state, where she has been on admission since the incident on December 28, 2015, by  Mrs. Omotola Rotimi, the Director of the Office of the Public Defender, to protective custody on the orders of the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
