Gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi has received condemnation from conservative Muslims, because of what she wore to participate in a gymnastics competition at the Singapore SEA Games.
They described it as indecent dressing.
As a result of the backlash, the Malaysian Gymnastics Federation (MGF) has come up with a new dress code for female Muslim gymnasts, that suits the Islamic code of dressing for women.
According to A. Razak Mat Amin, president of the Malaysian Gymnastics Federation (MGF), “We will continue to discuss this matter internally and bring it up to the authorities in the near future.”
You will recall that Pulse reported that the Mufti of Perak recently banned female gymnasts participating in the sport.
The fact that Farah Ann won two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal at the SEA Games at Singapore, does not count right now.
