LUCIA says when she dumped her boyfriend three weeks ago, he promised to hurt her. Now Lucia Khorola’s son Bokamoso (4) is dead. And the man the child loved as his dad is in jail.
Lucia (29) said the man phoned to tell her to call an ambulance.
She rushed to his shack at Khayelitsha kasi, Mangaung in the Free State.
Little Bokamoso died in her arms before the ambulance arrived. Lucia claimed that the child died of rat poisoning.
“My little boy loved him and treated him as his father.
“My child did not mind sleeping over at his shack. On Tuesday he took Bokamaso to town. When they came back he didn’t greet me. He later called and told me he was going to give me more pain than I’d given him. I begged him not to do anything stupid.”
Then she received a call, telling her to call an ambulance.
“I rushed to his shack and found my son vomiting white foam. His eyes were rolling and he couldn’t breathe,” cried Lucia.
She said the man was gone by the time cops arrived at his shack.
Lucia was told that he later handed himself over to the police.
“When we arrived at the police station, he cried and asked for a chance to apologise to me.
“I only looked at him and did not respond,” said Lucia
Constable Joy Xaba said a 39-year-old man was arrested on a murder charge.
