An Islamic teacher has caused consternation on the social media space after photographs of a case of child abusewent viral where it was reported that he kept a nine-year-old disciple, popularly known as 'Almajiri', chained with a hefty leg manacle so that the boy would not escape.
According to Henry Moses who posted the saddening picture on his Instgram page, the young boy who is sent to beg and scavenge for food by the teacher, went about with the chains on his legs.
Moses who is a student of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, said he saw the poor boy roaming the streets of the town in the shackles and when he was asked who did it to him, the boy claimed that his Islamic teacher chained him so that he would not run away.
Is this not the worst form of child abuse?
