Man kills neighbour in Benin over defecation in bush

A 42 year-old man has been killed in Benin City for allegedly challenging his neighbour, who defecated in a bush the victim was clearing.

The unfortunate incident occurred at 9, Ukhegie Lane, Off TV Road, Benin City, last Sunday.
It was gathered that the victim, Mr Erabor Esosa, had challenged his neighbour, identified as Victor Osazuwa, his mission when the latter emerged from an uncompleted building the late Esosa was clearing.
Osazuwa was said to have told the late Esosa that he had gone to the uncompleted building to defecate, something that was said to have angered Esosa, who asked him to go and pack his faeces from the building.
Trouble started when Esosa was said to have handed his cutlass to Osazuwa after the latter demanded for it to clear the faeces.
It was however disclosed that another episode of altercation that ensued shortly after the deceased surrendered his machete climaxed when Osazuwa allegedly beheaded Esosa with the cutlass.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Edo State Police Command DSP Osifo Abiodun, could not speak on the matter as he was said to be in a meeting.
Sources at the police command headquarters however revealed that the suspect, Victor Osazuwa, has been arrested by men of Oba Market Police division in Benin.
It was further learnt that the corpse of the victim has been deposited at the morgue of the Benin Central Hospital.
