Blaming The Devil: Teacher who slaughtered 10-yr-old girl says demonic spirits pushed him

                   The heartless killer, Edet Umoren
Edet Umoren, the primary school teacher who slaughter the 10-year-old granddaughter of the proprietor of the school over unpaid salaries has said that demons pushed him into butchering the girl, Precious Adedeji in the bush.

The 52-year-old Umoren, a father of three, who is from Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, prior to the evil act he committed, was a staff of Favour Nursery and Primary School, Ijebu-Imushin, Ogun State, and was angry at his proprietor, Pastor Joseph Olitoye, for owing him two months salary, totaling N16,000, and in anger, murdered the young girl in cold blood.
He was arrested by some vigilante members after being on the run and handed over to the police where he confessed that some demons had followed him from his village and that they were responsible to his act.
Umoren who is now cooling his heels at the Headquarters of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) at Magbon, Abeokuta, narrated that what happened to him was 'not an ordinary' thing, saying that he only came to his senses after he had murdered the child, claiming it was a spiritual attack from his family back home, which unleashed the demonic spirits that drove him into the uncharacteristic violence and murderous conducts.
Umoren who was paraded by the State Commissioner of Police,AbdulMajid Ali, said that on the say of the incident, he had a cutlass in his hand and was going to a nearby bush to cut a cane with which to punish some students when he saw the little girl, he took her to the bush and butchered her in a fit of anger and ran away before he was arrested.
Hear him:
"It is not an ordinary that I killed the girl after all, they (she and her grandfather), have been provoking and attacking me verbally without me doing anything bad and never felt annoyed.
I was actually going to the bush to fetch a cane for use in my class when I saw her and I used the cutlass on her. I was not myself when I took the cutlass and killed her. I believe it is a spiritual attack from my family.
I really regret the whole thing because I have my three children in my village, that is why I said it is not an ordinary thing when I came to back to my senses after the deed has been done.”
