Fashola Adewunmi, a 32-year-old robbery suspect now in the hands of the Lagos State Police Command, according to the police, was a deadly armed robber who did not spare his victims, even those who complied with his orders and by the time of his arrest, he and his gang had snuffed life out of over 50 victims including policemen.

According to the suspect in his confession to the police, they had to kill victims who refused to cooperate or lied that they did not have money.
Apart from the killings, Adewunmi also confessed that his gang which comprised of Daniel Kuye, 22, and Balogun Mutiu, 32, snatched more than 34 vehicles during their reign of terror.
“My members and I have killed about 50 people in the course of our robbery operations. Some of these people we killed were those who did not cooperate with us. Rather than allow them to stand as barrier to our operations and escape, we killed them.
I have been arrested. I don’t need to hide anything from the police. All I’m asking for now, is forgiveness. My parents should not see me on television screen because of my crime.”
According to the police, the suspects were responsible for the robbery of a hotel located at Iju-Ishaga, a suburb of the state, where they disposed guests of their valuables before proceeding to Coker, Mile 12, Ijesha, Aguda, Masha and Randle Avenue, for more operations. They were finally arrested about 3:40am on Wednesday by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), while they were attempting to rob at Randle Avenue in the Surulere axis of the state.
The suspects were said to have first started their operation at the hotel, where they collected N450,000 from a guest, identified as Banjo. They also took laptops and phones of the hotel guest before making their get away in the victim's car.
