Muslim man raped co-worker for five days 'to make her convert to Islam'

A MAN has been arrested for kidnapping and raping a former colleague for five days to force her to convert to Islam.

Police found the 27-year-old woman bruised and in shock inside the kidnapper's flat in Hyderabad, India after she managed to send an emergency text and post a cry for help on social media.
According to police, Syed Emad Hasan wanted to marry the woman, who cannot be named, but was rejected after she explained that her family do not allow inter-religious marriage.
Despite her moving to Dubai, Hasan continued to harass her until she came back to Hyderabad to confront him, reported the Indian Express.
The woman was then abducted, locked up in his Hasan's house and had her phone taken away from her.

He began a five-day process of physical and sexual assualt in an attempt to make her convert her to Islam and then marry him, before she was able to contact friends for help.
The two had been colleagues working at a Dell computer repairs shop in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
After she left for Dubai, Hasan relentlessly pestered and threatened to post obscene pictures of her to family members on social media - according to police.
Inspector Ravinder of the local police force said: "The woman told us she was forced to talk to Hasan as he showed her photos and videos of them together in Hyderabad, and threatened to send them to her father.
Unable to cope with the threats, the woman agreed to meet with Hasan in exchange for the photos and videos.
A Hyderabad police source said: "He took her to the flat in Al-Hasanath colony and confined her. He took three days’ leave and brutalised and sexually assaulted her. He threatened to continue doing so until she agreed to marry him after converting to Islam.
"He even threatened to set her on fire and strangle her."
He added: "The woman managed to use Hasan’s phone to send a text message to her friends, and used his laptop to post an SOS on social media. Her friends then alerted her brother, who informed the police.
"We found her in the bathroom with injuries on her head and body. She was scared and in shock, but managed to narrate her ordeal.
"Hasan said they were lovers, but the woman appears very scared in his presence."
"He [Hasan] also demanded that she send inappropriate photos of her."
