THE brave Muslims who risked their lives to help save the lives of Christians should be rewarded.
According to Kenyan newspaper The Nation, the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya has applauded the heroism of the Muslims who shielded Christians from being killed by suspected by Al-Shabaab militants who attacked the bus they were travelling in on Monday morning in Madera County, north eastern Kenya.
They defied an order by the attackers to divide themselves into Christians and Muslims.
Two people were killed and three others injured when the Somalia-based militants shot at the Makkah bus and a lorry. The attackers apparently fled when they heard a vehicle approaching that they thought were the cops.
Secretary general of the council Sheikh Khalifa said: “We congratulate the Muslims who offered their lives to save those who were non-Muslims.
"That is the love that the Koran teaches. Saving one life is saving the whole world; killing one life is killing the entire world. These were heroes.”
Khalifa wished all Christians happy festivities and said the Kenyan government should reward the heroes for their selflessness.
In 2014, the militants attacked a bus on its way to Nairobi, killing 28 people who couldn’t recite verses from the Koran.
