Christmas Violence Gunmen invade pastor's house weeks after failed assassination attempt

                         Pastor Francis Irabor
Unknown gunmen, on December 25, invaded the home of Abuja-based cleric, Pastor Francis Irabor, founder of Great Calling Ministry, GCM, in Edo state.

According to Vanguard reports, the gunmen arrived at the house around 2am on Christmas day, overpowered the security guard then proceeded into the house for their target.
On getting in, they only met an elderly woman who said “They don travel to Obodo Oyinbo,” when the attackers wanted to know the whereabout of Pastor Irabor and his family.
They reportedly ransacked the whole house after this, but could not find what they were looking for. The elderly woman explained that the gunmen told her they had gone to the cleric's Abuja residence but he was not there. They promised to return.
Angered by the fact that they did not meet their target, the gunmen shot the security guard, and left him for dead. However, he survived after he was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
This is not the first attempt at the life of the pastor.
Irabor recently escaped an assassination attempt in Abuja, when he was coming back from church. The suspected armed men shattered the windscreen of his SUV with gun-shots and escaped when they noticed that he was accompanied by a policeman.
On another instance, a year ago, he escaped from the den ofkidnappers after he was abducted on Abuja-Lokoja expressway on his way back from Uromi in Edo  State, where he attended the funeral ceremony of his in-law. He managed to make his way out after overhearing his captors’ decision to behead him.
No word yet on whether all these incidents are linked or simply coincidence.
