SHE SAID GOODBYE ON WHATSAPP!

When she was first dumped by her boyfriend, Baibee Manale told her Facebook friends it didn’t mean she had to be unhappy. But on Saturday, the 18-year-old from Phahameng in Mangaung started posting messages saying goodbye to everyone.
And the next day, the matric pupil at St Bernard High School was found hanging by a scarf in the back room of her family home.
According to her friends, Baibee and her boyfriend had been together for a year when he dumped her last month. However, her family never even knew she had a boyfriend.
Her gogo, Sarah, told Daily Sun: “She was secretive and maybe she didn’t tell me about her boyfriend out of respect.
“She knew I wanted her to work hard at school.”
Sarah said she was told by Baibee’s friends that she sent them WhatsApp messages saying she would meet them again in heaven.
Friend and neighbour Oratile Mosikare (17) said she was very shocked.
“I received a message from Baibee saying goodbye on Sunday morning but I never thought she would kill herself over a man. May her soul rest in peace,” said a crying Oratile.
Police spokesman Constable Masilela Langa confirmed that a teenage girl had killed herself.
“An inquest docket has been registered and the police are investigating the cause of death,” said Langa.
