GOGO Nocingile Mzukwana lived in hope in her little mud brick house. She was expecting to get a decent house soon after battling to raise nine kids there.
But that dream never came true for gogo Nocingile (55).
Two sons of a relative allegedly hacked her to death. People in Zithathele Village in Gxulu, near Mthatha, are shocked by the cruel death of the gogo who lived with her four grandkids.
Daughter Fikiswa (36) said neighbours called her to the village with the bad news.
“When I saw my mum lying in a pool of blood I screamed and fell to the ground,” said Fikiswa.
She said the family heard that a woman relative invited gogo for drinks at her house.
Residents told the SunTeam Nocingile was enjoying her beer when the son of her hostess said she was evil. He and his brother allegedly hacked her to death and ran away.
Councillor Novusile Ntoza said Nocingile was on the RDP list since 2008.
“Her situation was sad as child grants kept the family going,” said Ntoza. “The Nyandeni Municipality plans to bring the family a temporary structure this week.”
Warrant Officer Dineo Koena said the suspects are still on the run.
