MOURNERS were shocked when cops bust a man preparing for the funeral of murder victims Nombulelo Khoza (31) and her daughter Mpilwenhle (5).
It happened a few hours before hundreds of people gathered on Saturday to say goodbye to the mum and daughter who were gunned down two weeks ago.
Police bust the man and three others at their homes.
Nombulelo and her daughter were killed at their house in the Mphondi area of Nquthu in northern KZN.
A family member who didn’t want to be named said Nombuyiselo had sued her ex-fiance for maintenance.
“The suspect dumped Nombulelo and got engaged to another woman a few years ago,” he said.
“His new fiancee died suddenly and he suspected Nombulelo was behind her death.
“He stopped paying maintenance for their three kids. She decided to go to court. Their situation has been very tense.”
People said Nombulelo’s two other children were staying with her when she was murdered.
Major Thulani Zwane said Nquthu cops arrested four suspects at their homes on Saturday. “Two licensed 9mm pistols were recovered. The suspects will appear in court soon.”
