Christianity and Marriage: Dear Christian women...avoid these 6 types of men like a plague

Pastor Jack Wellman, who is also a contributor to Christian Media Magazine recently wrote an article on the six types of men that Christian women should avoid dating or getting married to.

Pastor Wellman advises young Christian girls to move on if the man they are interested in possesses any of these bad qualities:

1. He doesn’t put God first. A man who doesn’t have a commitment to God will most certainly not know how to love his girlfriend or wife the right way.
2. He is consumed with hobbies. You can be sure that neither his wife nor God will be able to compete with his interests.
3. He treats his mother bad. If he mistreats her, you better believe that he won’t take proper care of his woman, either. This is a breach of the Fifth Commandment and definitely a red flag.
4. He only cares about himself. “God is worthy of that place in our life but no man should ever take center stage,” Wellman writes.
5. He treats animals harshly. Man was created to shelter and take care of God’s creatures, not to harm them. His gentleness toward animals is one indicator that he will treat you and your children with respect and love.
6. He isn’t good with children. “Children are precious to God and if this man is a potential mate and father to your children and he can’t stand being around children or has a short fuse around them, take warning because he may treat them even worse when he has his own family and you’d likely be better off without this type of man,” Wellman explains.
