During the Italian bishops' conference held at the Vatican, Pope Francis asked Bishops and clergy to treat members of their parishes well. He said that reports of Bishops ordering people around had gotten to him and he did not want it to continue.
He also asked the Bishops to shun all forms of corruption in the church, while advising them to be humble as Christ and show mercy and love to the people.
The Pontiff also decried the rigid mentality of the clergy when it comes to doctrines, stating that those who are theologians sometimes hinder the evangelistic work of the church.
He told members of the clergy to go with the flow of the Holy Spirit, and asked Bishops not to bring the same preachers all the time, to speak to the brethren.
Adding that such a practice "drugs the community, homogenising choices, opinions and people."
