Some people are addicted to nyaope, but this guy may be addicted to robbery! Sinoxolo Madinda had just walked out of the court where he'd appeared on a robbery charge when he allegedly decided to get right back to committing more crime.
He allegedly walked up to two men and asked them for a cigarette, the cops' Sandra Janse van Rensburg said.
Madinda then told them to follow him, as he needed to show them something nearby. A little bit further down the road Madinda allegedly pulled out a knife, threatening the men and demanding they hand over their valuables - not realising they were members of the Mount Road police crime prevention unit dressed in plain clothes!
He was arrested on the spot and taken back to the cop shop.
It happened yesterday in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. South Africa.
Madinda was charged with attempted robbery and put behind bars. He is expected to return to court later this week.
