Pastor William Kumuyi: “President Jonathan has fulfilled God’s assignment” - Deeper Life founder says.

Pastor Kumuyi
General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry(DCLM), William Kumuyi, at the weekend stated that President Goodluck Jonathan had fulfilled the assignment which God wanted him to fulfill for Nigeria and her citizens.
Pastor Kumuyi commended Jonathan’s spirit of sacrifice for conceding defeat to the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, noting that the manner the president conceded defeat should interest the former head of state.
He stated this at a news conference held at the Deeper Life Conference Centre (DLCC) located at Kilometre 42 along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to mark the 2015 National Easter Retreat of the church.
Kumuyi, who was represented by the Secretary of the church,Jerry Asemota, acknowledged that the singular decision of President Jonathan to concede defeat quelled all the anxiety and agitation by his political party and members, ThisdDay reports.
He said: “Once he accepted defeat, every got settled. We thank God for that sacrifice. That is the love for the nation and this should interest the president-elect. Any leader, who will lead a nation, must be able to sacrifice.
“Sacrifice and love are very important. Somebody can make sacrifice without nothing. But when you have sacrifice and love or sacrifice occasioned by love, it becomes something else. So, we wish him well and the nation expects so much from him. He will also see how to get things done to lead this country,” he explained.
Undoubtedly, the general superintendent said President “has an assignment that God wanted him to fulfill. I believe he has fulfilled that assignment. Likewise, the President-elect, also, has a specific assignment from God.
“So, the prayers of the church is that the President-elect will know what God wants him to do for Nigeria so that he will be able to face the responsibilities and carry them out. At the end of his tenure. We will be able to say, of truth, this is God’s handiwork. The church will continue to pray for the president and the president-elect.
“Nigeria has been plagued by so many difficulties and problems. Like I said, we have been praying. The church has been praying and God has been answering our prayers and supplication. We will continue for the incoming president so that God will grant him wisdom to handle the affairs of this country from May 29,” he noted.
He added that the pronouncement of President Jonathan in conceding defeat to Buhari “is a significant comment that would be written in the book of records, not just in Nigeria, but in the whole world. This is the first time a sitting president would concede defeat and congratulate his opponent in Nigeria.”
He, therefore, thanked God for His mercies on Nigeria, noting that the country “has peace today. We have wonderful elections and the outcome of the election did not result into burning of houses and killing of innocent people. The nation is at peace with itself. So, we really thank God for what he done for us as a nation.”
